Ok, I have a problem with my heated grips on my 2013 Ultra. When I got the bike the heated grips did not work. Second owner. Was not much worried because it was spring and summer was fast approaching. At the first cold snap I pulled out the manual and seen where the power wire comes from the battery and went through a fuse then went to the cancer lighter then to the left grip then to the right grip then ground. I checked the lighter and it did not work. I went to the fuse and pulled it out and it was good, but covered with what looked like dielectric grease. When I put it back in the lighter and grips worked. Yea me! Well the next time I went to ride the bike the heated grips quit working but the cancer lighter still works. What gives? I have heard the there is a thin wire in the grips that if messed with it will break. I just rode the bike and put it away and now no heat. Ideas???

 

Are these HD grips or aftermarket? Do you have a test light or multi-meter? Can you get to the switch and see if you have 12 volts at the switch?

 

I had a set one time that quit working and it was a bad ground connection at the battery. The wire was broken just inside the connector.

 

Ok, After freezing again on a night ride. I went through the entire factory heated grips wiring harness. If your grips stop working pop off the plastic end cap on the right grip and check if the connector is plugged in. Mine had worked its way out. Pushed it back in and "Whoop,Whoop" heated grip once again.
