Sometimes, not always, my Street Glide discharges when hot. Battery and Voltage Regulator were replaced last year. It normally charges at 14.4 volts, but when hot it drops to under 12 and pops the engine and discharge lights. it will then kick back up and sometimes spikes to 16 volts. The trouble codes are generic under/over charging issues. Everything checks out fine ( because I'm testing when cool. Had it ripped apart and all the wiring looks fine. Intermittent electrical issues suck. Anyone with any ideas?

Sure sounds like a bad voltage regulator. I think your replacement has some problems.

has ANYONE ever heard of a voltage regulator going bad like this? only when hot, and only intermittently? I've never had one go like this before. Mine always just died. Anyone ?

yes, a couple of years back, I had one that was about a year old get intermittent when it was hot. Work great most of the time but then would just quit sometimes when I was on a ride...the dealer replaced it under warranty and told me at that time that they were seeing this happening with some defective replacements...
