Headlight goes out when passing lights are on
OK. I am getting lazy here and asking for some tips. My 97 Heritage Springer has a glitch. If I run with the passing lights (located on either side of the headlight) on, the headlight, running lights (lowpower light in turn signals) and passing lights intermittantly go out. After several minutes, they all come back on. If I turn off the passing lights all is well. Definitely NOT a fuse since the lights can come back on.
Spent a little time with the wiring diagram and since all the lights get power stright through the ignition switch, I suspect the switch may be getting hot when all the lights are on and causing it to react similar to a circuit breaker. The only circuit breaker listed is the main 30A and it looks like it would kill more systems than just those lights if it were going out.
Anyone had anything similar?
