Here's a strange one, when I pull in my clutch instead of the gear indicator going blank it will flash different gears at random. When I release the clutch the gear indicator works fine.

Another issue that may be related, the bike will only start in neutral. When I pull the clutch lever in while the bike is in gear I get no action from the starter.

Has anybody seen this before?
Does anyone know how this system (gear indicator, starting system etc...) is configured? I couldn't find any info in the repair manual.

I had originally posted this in the drivetrain forum but got no responses, hopefully someone will have some input here.

Dave I am having a digital tach resetting to odometer after restarting motor. I have a 2011 Heritage, 15K. Did you ever find out what was causing your digital tach issue?
