Starter Relay Identification.. Please Help..
Hey all, I have an issue going on with my 87 FLSTC..
The starter relay also controls the brake/running light. I have tried all the ones that the dealership says will work, but no brake light or tail light. The only one I have here that worked has no part number on it, but i did do a small diagram of what is on it. Can anyone please ID this relay for me so I can get a replacement? Thanks! Chris

The starter relay is a standard 5 terminal Bosch type relay (only 4 terminals are used).
The relay you pictured is a dual 87 terminal relay, which for your purposes does the same thing as the standard commonly available units.
The relay controls only the starter, unless the original wiring configuration has been altered.
A quick break down of the circuits:
The tail light gets its power from the blue wire, that originates at the lighting breaker.
The brake light gets it power through the brake light switches, which get power from the accessory breaker.
The starter relay coil circuit (relay terminals 85,86) gets power from the starter switch, which is powered by the ignition breaker.
The starter relay to solenoid circuit (relay terminals 30,87) is powered by the main breaker.
