No one ever claimed they were a performance head but seeing a 10% increase on Intakes and an 18-20+% inrcease on the exhausts is pretty big. Also a major reason for people to think twice about replacing them since the exhuast has always been a major issue.
Question for you have you always been an over opinionated D_CK?
Oh and here is a copy of the compare report. Facts Not Opinion. I will let other poeple make decisions and just help them with some information.
A 10% increase in flow doesnt equate to a 10% performance increase, static flow numbers dont show the big picture of what the heads will do, doesnt account for poor springpacks and seals, or mismatched volume CC. Yep, we all know they improved the ports a bit on the new castings, they still perform below par. If someone is still looking for good performance, they will send the heads out for port and valvework,springpack and cc matching. And who ever said the heads need to be "replaced"? They just need to be cleaned up and worked to their true potential. If opinionated DICKS offend you, then you may want to hit a Fanny Farmer or Betty Crocker good cook forum and change the diapers. All I did was make a statement that the heads, while a bit better than previous castings, still leave alot on the table and don't want people to get the impression that the 06' heads are great performers. They are far from it in stock form. So get your britches unbunched there pardner, and relax.

Second, to all, HD man was simply trying to point out that for the money spent on '06 heads you could do a little work on your existing heads and achieve even more. It is interesting that the flow numbers have went up though.....
PERSONALLY, I like the idea of a CNC port job and bench flowing for 500 bucks @ Nallin racing, but what do I know?

I know this is an old thread but I was doing some searching.....to give a rough comparison.....for what it's worth......my mildly ported "small" CNC heads flow 271 cfm @.600 lift on the intake side and 189 cfm on the exhaust side.

Now now... everybody play nice I port n flow alot of heads for my customers. It takes less work, but still ALOT of work to get good flow numbers from 06an newer castings. In my opinion reworking stocks heads is a way better investment than stepping up and buying S.E. heads. In most case's the valve's and ports are to big in the SE heads for most guys applications. The biggest valve's i use inmy stage 2 heads is 1.900in and 1.615ex. I see some guys still pushing bigger is better, And it is better but for only topend numbers. Guys with well sorted out heads and cams that match always get there first even though they not have the biggest dyno numbers to brag about. Dontfall into bigger is better.
Hammer02 The CFMnumbers your looking at are 24 or 25 and sometimes 28 inch's of water. Thats why the numbers look so much better. Most the CFM numbers were talking about here are at 10 inches so the CFM number is smaller.

You are right....it was at 28 inches of water. How would that compare to these....any kind of conversion factor?
