Default 625 cams

Curious as to what kind of power the Tman 625 will produce compared to the S&S 625 either in a 103, 106, or 107.

Anyone running these setups?

Don't the Tmans come on early on? I'm running an Andrews 57. Would the Tmans come on earlier than my current setup?

the fueling .574`s,set at 10.5-1 would be a good choice.

Kirby,

Is this not comparable to what I already have? I am set at 10.1 and this graph shows 10.1.

Looking over ( dyno runs) of many different cams i would call most of them comparable. The only cam i didnt see any runs for is the woods 999, but i dont think its what you are looking for. Calls for 10.5 comp. and the usaul other mods, but for the bike to come on at a lower rpm dont we usaully have to give a little back up top? Maybe a lower tooth drive would put you right where you want be, if possible for the fxsb.

How do you know you static CR is set at 10:1? IIRC, you posted CCP at 185/188 a while back which would indicate to me that static CR is about 9.8?

I don't think your exhaust is helping you either. I would bet replacing the OEM head gasket with a .030" head gasket will help with that flat TQ line from 2600-3300 and perhaps move the curve to the left a bit as well as produce higher peak numbers. A better exhaust will help with the flat TQ line and moving the curve to the left as well; like the D&D pipe.

I would not throw the baby out with the bathwater; you just need to improve on what you have.

That makes sense. I didn't realize I was as low as 9.8.

Moving it left isn't the ultimate goal the 57's run great. I was just wanting more power keeping the power where I'm at or left of it.

I installed a .030 head gasket. What pistons would get me to where I need to be?

My bad on the head gasket; I didn't know it was the .030" gasket. A .030" head gasket will set static at 10:1, so you are about where you need to be on compression and changing pistons, IMHO, is the wrong way to go. I still think a pipe change will help.

If you just want more, more cam will be required which will likely require better heads (IIRC your heads are Hillside Stage 1), larger T/B (you can have the OEM T/B bored) to supplement more cam as well as better 2:1 exhaust. You are still fighting the large back tire and the counter balancers that are power robbers; that big *** tire is also holding the initial TQ down as it robs power to get it spinning.

I still think a trans pulley change would be a more cost effective modification and would go that route before digging into the motor again. JMHO.
