There's no comparison! The EV27 is designed for stock or near stock engines, with stock lift. The 585 cam gives .585" lift and is intended for larger motors. I have an S&S V107T engine which came with a 585, which is also used in the touring version of the S&S TC124" crate engine.

Why do you ask?!

Mine gives me excellent torque, I agree. However you haven't told us what you are thinking of using it in! Tell us more of what you are planning to do.

Default no comparison...........

You cannot compare the 2 cams side by side. The EV27 is a drop in cam (no engine modification necessary) however it can provide decent torque for a stock motor. The W8 Requires 10.8 : 1 static cr. And springs in the head for a .600" lift specification also gonna need a good pipe and a/ c. And a good tuner. If you're not planning any other work than a cam just put in a woods W6 w/ adjustable pushrods. You won't regret it. Plus you already received multiple replies from some of the best builders around when you posted in the EVO section. You need chose your riding style. What do you want?

A Wood 8 will generate more torque coming up to peak over an S&S .585.
An EV-27 is not in the same zip code as either of the above.

Well I was thinking if I ported and polished my heads, I would need more than a EV-27 cam. And maybe use a woods 8 cam. Am I right?
