That tech must've never installed a set of Andrews 48's or a set of Wood 222's then.

I see why it wouldn't help without anything controling the afr but with a good tune, cams and true duals how would that not be better than slip ons and a tune? Or am I completely missing something here?

Also, what is recommended for tuning as far as a handheld flash tuner, piggyback etc.
I you want more power a simple cam change will do it. That tech is full of chit! If you have the jingle get what makes you happy. Now a mild 107 with a little headwork even better. I wouldn't worry about reliability if you install it correctly. That would feel like a whole different bike. How does 25hp 25 tq more sound, maybe even more over a stock 96

I installed the woods 555 cams and and a Dragos 2 into 1. It ran good. Last year my trans main bearing went out so while I had it tore down I put on the 30 tooth front pulley along with the 68 tooth rear. All I can say is wow. It seriously made that big of a difference. I don't have my dyno chart but it was 90 hp and 99 ft lb. when running 70 mph it runs at 2800 rpm. Last summer on my way to work I was following a semi and two cars on two lane highway. The semi was going about 50. I passed all of them at once downshifted once and by the time I got by the semi I was going 95. The thing is it doesn't feel like it ever stops pulling.

I also have an 07 with the 96 inch motor. Based on input from Scott at Hillside, I went with the Andrews 48's.(good for stock heads/compression) I also have a V&H 2 into 1 Pro Pipe, high flow breather, and Power Commander V (PCV) I had it dyno tuned by Dr. Dyno in Daytona. I am making close to 90 hp and 100 torque. No gear change. It runs like a scalded dog. Riding is soooo much more fun now! I did all my own work, so cost was very low.

I had an 07 Road King. After headwork, 103" kit, V&H pro pipes, Woods TW7 cams and a good tune I was at 97HP and 107 torque. My current ride is a similar build with Woods 555 cams at 107 hp and 113 torque. Dave Mackie did the heads.
