Just built a carbed 117" here 132/134.
Bassani 2/1, 45 Mik, Wood 9F, DTT, our Heads........192 ccp.
A 48 Mik, and a Borezilla would have been nice to work with.
I will note that the OE Mik 2 1/2" air filter was pinching this build by 6 1/2 hp.
Piece/parted a big 'un to expose the power better for our client.
Scott

Enjoyed seeing your shop/store a couple weeks ago! I sure like having a place like yours nearby.

Did Eric(AMS) do your case boring? What cylinders/pistons did you use?

When you come out to get your bike tuned at Piper's, let me know - would love to come by. Alan.

I've busy at work... but reading through here, I use to run the sport bikes. For 180mph, can't beat them! On that note, those late nights out at what I'll just call "the street nationals"... things get to dangerous. So I gave that up . Slowed it down some. Got into Harleys because, well, NOTHING on the planet sounds like it and rides like it. I'm not into the corner carving... I just ride to relax and doing rolling burnouts. Just how I am. Been talking to some builders, and a 117 is probably way more than I'll ever need. I hope! Just want the power for when I want to blister that back tire! The street glide will NEVER be a race bike, as we all know. but damn will it be fun busting some of those sport bikes ***! LOL

The 120R is defiantly out of the question.. read to many times they come apart. that's one headache I do not need.

Actually sweaked out 133.8/136.0, with a radiused-entry backing plate and adapter/main jet/air filter combo.
It's "crossing" at 126.
That damn 45 Mik surprised me!
Cleveland, Ohio-based client is picking it up this morning.
He's gonna' have some fun now!

With everything being Equal Scott, what would the numbers have been on a 124 roughly?

Love my Hillside 117. More of a touring build than a hot rod. But don't let it fool you. Feels like it wants to bake the tire and 1st and pull the wheels when you shift it. Its got a 585 at 10.5 and a crappy thunderheader that I love. If I could do it again it would have a 9f or 662-2 at around 11:1

I`m having a 117" built as I type this.

Its nice that my builder can do everything in house;ie case boring and crank welding.

Cant wait to get the bike back;this guy has been building bike for 37 years,so he should know a few things.

I set out to do a 117 last year. After sending the bottom end out for crank & case work I recieved the call that my crank was beyond repair. That added an unexpected $1500 or so to the cost, damn it man! The silver lining was finding out that a 4-5/8" crank was going to cost me the same as a quality S&S or Jimes replacement 4-3/8" crank. Well let's face it when costs are the same bigger is always better so my 117 became a 124 what a blast to ride.
