50 mph in 6th. This should never happen.

Appreciate knowing if others feel the 999 cams chug at low speeds or is it just me? I have to ride above 2500-3000 before up changing gears otherwise they the engine lugs, is this about right? At the higher range, they are awesome but I don't always ride at the hi-end of the revs.

I did have an issue with the 999-6a cams as you have to run the engine above 2500rpm to make them smoother at lower speeds when in traffic. Changing up with lower revs will give you a very lumpy or lugging ride, impossible in slow traffic but on the highway or cruising, awesome cams. High-performance race cams really need the higher rev range but I have a question for all the techno's here, running or changing above 2500rpm, any issues above these revs changing gears or running at higher revs does actually increase engine life, even though the noise is much higher, I have read lugging the engine, or changing at lower revs and speeds actually does more damage to the engine & crankshaft?

Thanks but in slow traffic at 10mph without being able to lane split, 1st is your only option with high revs!

Is the high revs to keep it from stalling?

My 999-6a cams don't lug or stall or buck at all until you get down around 1000-1200rpms or so. The driveability is the same as my Andrews 57H cams were. It was tuned on a SuperFlow load-bearing dyno by Jesse at Busted Knuckle in Walnut Cove, NC.

Now camchest noise is a different issue altogether. I've tried Wood, Feuling, and S&S lifters in it and none of them were any different. Top-end noise, not a peep, but you can definitely tell there are cams in it.
