You didn't read the fine print

I really get a kick out of my old '02 FLHT pulling away from the new big, bad 103"/110" motors but if the MoCo starts installing the 120's, I may have to bite the bullet.
Moco may have filed 120ci approval w California EPA on all touring based on a pdf someone posted few days ago, you may be referring to that. It all means next tear down should be full monty, 124 and done! FM is posturing for a big inch drop in motor I'm hearing next month...should be interesting.

No I didn't; what a dummy I am. Wanna guess what you can do with the fine print?

I would consider the 110 kit. Since they are using a different liner I am OK with the cylinders. Problem is it will not work on my 14 Slim. Or rather they do not have a map for a 14 Slim is my guess. I cannot imagine why they did it this way other than the cost of certifying each model. Slightly irritating.

4.054" OE spigot O.D.
3.937" piston skirt.
.0025" piston/wall clearence.
4.00" bore(?)
.0025 piston/wall.
.0515" spigot wall divided x 2 =.00275" spigot wall thickess??(OUCH!!!!), unless of course it is not a 4.00" piston?, and would NOT be a true 110" either, and if all this is true, what warranty?....what of all the dealers/independents that preached that 103"(3.875") was the absolute limit???.....berating the 3.937" kits???
We WILL NOT bore a clients ductile iron(read, nitro drag racing strength steel-like material(Durabar) manufactured via Axtell, Hyperformance, or Trock) to a .0275" wall thickness, and I am a NYS papered Toolmaker of 36 years, and have been boring HD cylinders for well over a 1/4 century now, and unless my math is incorrect, count me out.
Yes, in fact, very little piston thrust load at BDC, but what of engine vibes/harmonics after miles of service, setting the stage for fractures once "seasoned" and brittleness sets in????
If true, then it'll be very interesting??
HD already has a ****-poor record with those 4", 110" bore cylinders as preached by many, so what in the wide-world-of-sports, is going to be of this new coming?

What makes you think the 110" cylinder won't work on a '14 Slim? Admittedly, I am still learning about the hardware and maybe talking out of my *** but if they will work on one 96" motor, why not another, regardless of the year?

A "steel"-lined cylinder will require a nitrided ring, on the top and oil scraper, but to nitride-coat the oil rails???
I'll say this also, that GREAT CARE will be needed NOT to bump/harm the spigot wall OD, as that can raise hell X 10.

I am sure it will fit in the cases of a Slim the same as any other 103. But the HD parts catalog says it will not work. My guess is there is no ECM re-calibration map for it because they did not certify all of the models it would fit on. Nothing else makes sense to me. If you read what these kits will fit according to the HD catalog there are several models left out. Cheers.

I have read it but would not let the lack of an ECM calibration get in the way if I was interested in this upgrade; the MoCo's ECM re-calibrations are seriously lacking and no substitute for a proper dyno tune.

Wonder how much power can be squeezed out of it, by maybe a bump in compression
