Crank work?
#5
It has been a couple of years since I had any work done by Hoban. The last was a lower unit sent for case boring, crank T/B/W and plug, Timken was replaced ('02 cases so no conversion), main and pinion bearings replaced, labor to split and reassemble cases, new sprocket shaft seal and return shipping; total cost was $1200. If you sent them your lower unit, your turn around cost would be the same less the case boring or about $900.
A new S&S crank will run about $1300, plus shipping and you will bear the cost of new bearings and seals as well as perform the case splitting and reassembly. As suggested call Hoban and speak to John Dahmer, prices may have changed. Also take a look at R&R Cycles and Rev Performance.
