Default oil pump problem

I have a 2005 RK with the SE cam plate for the newer bikes.
A few weeks ago, I decided to install Andrews 54 conversion cams.
When I had it apart, I noticed that the pump had a fair bit of scoring and that the cam plate has about .005" wear in one spot from the gerotors.
Prior to this, the oil light always went off right after starting, the bike made 13-39 psi hot with the old pump.
I decided to install a new Daytona oil pump http://www.ebay.com/itm/DAYTONA-HIGH...a80170&vxp=mtr

I liked that the Daytona was a bit bigger, made of steel and that the gerotors
are enclosed and no longer spin on the cam plate.
With the new oil pump, the bike makes 22-49 psi hot and all seems good.
Except for when the bike sits for a couple days.
The oil light takes a full 7 seconds to go out when started cold after sitting for a couple days, after that, anytime I start the bike the light goes off right away.
It seems the pump is losing its prime. I'm not sure if the oil is leaking out between the pump and cam plate or if I have a problem with one of the 2 O rings on the left side of the cam plate ( I know the scavenge O ring at the bottom at the oil pump spout is OK).
I'm not going to take it apart for another 3 weeks when my insurance runs out for the season and I'll probably only ride it a few times before that.
When I take it apart, if I find a bad O ring- no problem.
If the O rings are good, should I try and seal the pump to the cam plate?
Or maybe just reinstall the SE pump I took off with the scores?
Am I missing something else?

Sounds like your crankshaft runout is on the high side if you have scoring and wear on the cam plate & oil pump.

Thanks Scott, The pump looks nice, but I was questioning whether it could be the problem.
If you say it's a good unit, that's good enough for me!

The Dayton pump is a nice piece of hardware. What does the pressure gauge register on cold startup?

Cold start up is about 38 psi, a small blip will take it to 55.

Then why are you worried about the delay in the light going out?

'cause it never did that before. Seven seconds is a long time to stare at
oil light that is still on after the bike is started.
All it costs is my time to go back in and check things.
Wouldn't it bother you to see that light stay on every time the bike was cold started?

Not if cold start oil pressure was registering 38psi? The light staying on could be an electrical issue, bad sending unit, etc. I will always rely on a gauge before a light.

OK, sorry, bad communication on my part.
I though you were asking what the pressure is after the light goes out.
For the first 7 seconds there is no oil pressure.
