Oil light, engine noise

Oil light, engine noise
I took my 1997 Road King, non fuel injected 80CI, for its second ride since I purchased it 11/13. Got 20 miles out of town and the oil light came on. I pulled over, turned off the bike, checked the oil, all look good. Restarted the bike and no light. Kept on my way, light came on again. Kept driving and light would come on and go off so I thought it might have been an electrical issue. A couple miles down the road I heard what sounded like bike chain rattling around in my engine case. Pulled to the side turned off the bike called for a tow. Its at the Harley dealer right now being assessed. It did restart after I stopped after hearing the noise. I of course turned it off immediately. Any ideas on what this might be? My fear is its a the main bearing or something let go. But it didn't lock up or stall or lose power, that's what's got me puzzled. Thanks

If low oil pressure light came on but motor kept running fine with no noises id say maybe a bad oil pressure sending unit or elec issue with it.
But since your hearing noises when low oil pressure light is on thats not good at all likely requiring significant work to correct.
Let us know what the shop has to say.
Good luck.
