Default Really bad crank runout

I had a breakdown a while ago on my 07 road glide. One of my lifters broke apart and jammed up the oil pump. I checked the crank shaft runout yesterday and it was .040". So four times the max spec. Seems extreme. What would cause it to be that bad?? And yes I measured multiple times

Your lucky, now you can justify going 124.

Flywheels moved in relation to the crank pin. Do you have it ripped apart yet?

2007 models were the worst of the family of 4 3/8" cranks.
2004's were the worst of the 4"ers.
The lifter becoming buggered sure didn't help it.

No blocks. Just had it on a lift and used a deflector gauge. I have it ripped down to just the case. (Haven't split it). I assume it's wrecked?

I'd strip it all the way down. You could have something else that's throwing off the reading.
