Default 96" to 103"with 57H cams... stock pushrods?

Just curious, and I'm getting conflicting info in my research. Can I use stock length pushrods when going from 96" to 103" and an Andrews 57H cam?

I believe the base circle of the 57h is the same as stock. If so you CAN use stock pushrods, but many advise against it for a multitude of reasons ... probably as many reasons as people with opinions ...

But it should be easy enough to find out if the base circle truly is the same as stock ............

I think base circle is different as lift is .560 and in order to achieve that without the cams hitting each other, they have to go down on BC. But I may be mistaken... But the site DOES say "bolt in" cams, so it just makes me wonder...

The 57 base circle is .020" smaller than stock, so there is the potential for lifter preload being less than .100; all depends on factory clearances and how the valve train stacks up. Many run the stock pushrods with no issues, so, why not try them first before spending money for adjustables. If valve train is noisy, you can always cut out the stockers and install a set of adjustables and set preload to .135"-.140".

The 57 is notorious for noise from the T/B; reversion generates the noise. It drives some nuts and others pay it no mind..........

EDIT: Talk to Gary; he will tell you the same thing.

Your best bet is to call Gary Wallace from Andrews, he will steer you in the right direction, I used the stock pushrods in my 2014 CVO 110" Limited when I used the 57H cams. Good luck, I used the 54H in my 103" before the 57's were out and they worked excellent.

I may just stop by and try to talk face to face with Gary. I live literally less than an hour from him.

Since you are going to have the top end apart anyway I would absolutely use fixed length push rods. You eliminate potential problems as far as proper adjustment, adjusters coming loose, pushrods hitting the tubes, more flex and etc. Find out what length you need from Andrews for that cam and order exact fit one's. I would do this 100% of the time if I had the top end apart.
