I am thinking about doing this
http://www.fuelmotousa.com/p-28614-98-big-bore-kit.html
I ride an 01 Road Glide with Magnetti Marelli EFI a Thunder Header and PC-V. Would the MM EFI be sufficient? and would my stock heads be ok until I can get some head work done? One more Question With 10:1 Compression would I need compression releases?

Thanls
Jeff

I answered your request on another forum, you are welcome to contact us for more info.

The MM EFI will work as long as everything is currently in good working order. You can use your stock heads however there are some considerations such as springs & seals that should be attended to as a minimum, and I would recommend compression releases. For best information of this nature I would recommend contacting us at 920-423-3309 so we can get more details on your bike, how many miles are on it, etc.. and provide our best info based on the specific objectives you are looking for with your build

Hi Jeff,
I answered the questions in detail in regards to the MM and heads on the RG forum, except the releses, and yes, you'd want releases at 10.0 cr.

we`ve used MM t. bodies on many 98" builds.(even used it on a 124" once),for a milder,touring build they`ll work OK.i would recommend mild 1.900 headwork though.10.0-1 wit S&S .570 ez start cams would be my recomendation

I've tuned a number of pretty big builds with the MM, did a 135 HP 113" last summer actually. HPI does make a really nice conversion TB for MM though. I just got one for a bike that's in the shop right now. Kind of pricey but uses Delphi injectors

the HPI single throat really is the way to go for bigger inch, higher HP builds.

What cam are you going to use? Use what you CCP is going to be to determine if you need releases. Not static compression.

Zippers has one as well, it's in their MM conversion kit but they will piece it out. It may even be the HPI one, not sure. I really like the HPI one if you are willing to spend the coin on it

Doesn't the Zippers require the use of a late model IAC motor? This will require the use of a tuner that can reverse it. Thundermax or S&S pro tune.

The S&S ECM is a nice unit. It can also be fitted with O2 sensors and does some auto tuning. The other option in the Techno Research tuning software. These are the only 2 systems I will tune a MM with. I would suggest getting your tuning strategy figured out before moving on.
