Help urgent !!! 88" 2006 dyna
Hello guys , I ordered the stage 2 big bore kit with the se 203 cams that are included in the kit direct from my dealer . I was told these cams would work with my 2006 dyna with has the hydraulic cam chain tensioners and different style chain than other models that had the 88" in 2006 . The parts guy told me I was wrong and assured me they would fit. Well now the motor is tore down and these cams are clearly the old style cam as I expected so I called the parts dept up and let them know the cams in the kit were not correct for this bike so they argued with me and they're trying to say the previous owner must have upgraded the spring loaded tensioners to a hydraulic cam plate set up and that's why they're not fitting
What I need from anyone here I proof or some kind of figment guy showing the se 203 cam with a figment section that says some thing like (fits all 2000-2006 twin cam 88" , except 06 dyna)

I'm only going by memory so someone may either confirm or deny this, but I believe the first year for hydraulic tensioners used link chains on the front and back side of the cam plate. The roller style chain didn't appear until 2007 (on both sides of the cam plate),
The SE conversion kit, would have a roller chain from the pinion to the rear cam and a link chain (the original) on the back of the cam plate between the two.
It's still early yet and I haven't had all my coffee so I'm not completely sure what your trouble is. It sounds like you've been given cams for a roller chain when you have a link chain set up.
Below is a diagram of your stock cam chest
Below is an image of a 2007 cam chest
Notice the difference between the two sets of cams. The sprockets on the 07 are for roller chains. The sprockets on the 06 are for link chains, front and back.

The part number of the kit is 29859-04b if you read the foot note at the bottom of the kit it shows fitment for years and models found on this page here http://www.boardtrackerharleyonline....ge_580440596=5 this link shows my kit with the exact part number
In that foot note it says 2000-2005 dyna and all over 2000-2006 88" twin cams
Well my bike is an 06 dyna wich I told the parts guy ,
