Not in charge, just suggesting that you know of what you speak before you post misinformation; really a simple and reasonable request. There are other forum members that aren't as nice or as diplomatic.

I did notice that you edited your previous posts; thanks for that.

Makes sense, and is in line with what I was thinking. I don't have a catalog to reference what you mentioned so I appreciate the information. The Harley website is a little vague on what I am trying to evaluate. Like a lot of people, I am looking for everything in an upgrade, meaning the most torque and power without sacrificing mileage. After all, this is a touring bike and I don't want to have to stop at every gas station. I have other toys when I really want to light it up. When I do ride, it tends to be longer trips and this 96 just leaves me wanting for something more. Any ideas on which kit would be a reasonable blend of getting some additional performance without sacrificing mileage? Should I expect a drop of 10%, 20% or something different with one of these kits? Thanks.

I have no personal experience with any of the kits being discussed, so no prediction from me. However, I can say with a reasonable level of confidence that increasing displacement combined with other performance parts such as cams and better flowing heads will put a dent in stock mileage. How much, I cannot say but it is typical for most owners to be unable to resist experiencing the increase in performance which will also put a dent in mileage as most get deeper in the throttle while riding. After all, why increase performance without experiencing it.

If you are just looking for additional torque, a simple cam upgrade and a pipe change might meet your needs; those true duals are not helping. Replace them with the V&H Power Dual, the Fullsac DX or the Fuel Moto X-pipe will help with the torque and mileage will still take a dip but not as deep as it will with the 110" kit. JMHO and YMMV.

I have a 2015 103" motor I have to put a new or repaired flywheel into so I was looking at this Tire Shredder kit as well. Seems pretty complete. Probably gonna go with DarkHorse for crank repairs. Thanks for the discussion guys.

My 2012 FLTRU came stock with the 103. First thing I did was yank it and add the 110 kit with the SE255 cams and SE110 heads. I don't have the part number handy, but I will post it later today after I get home from work.

I was very happy with it until it lost a cam tensioner, but that was not the fault of the big bore kit. I was getting consistent dyno numbers of 97/98bhp and 117/118 Ft/lbs of torque.

Warranty replacement was a 110 longblock. I put the SE259E cams in that. I saw an increade of 16bhp and 6 Ft/lb of torque.

OK, I'm a day or two late posting the information, but here it is.

I purchased the 27501-10A Kit-Legal, 110 CI Black Touring It was $1549.95 msrp in Feb, 2012. I have linked the instruction sheet above. This kit does require boring the cases, but I had no problem.

I don't think it is available from Harley any more, but you can find it online.

Later model kits are bolt on now.
