Default Cam Needle Bearing Orientation

I am putting new needle bearings into my 99 Dyna, 88inch twin cam. I am thinking I might have put them in backwards. Should the letters face the crank or cam plate?

I have them installed now so that I can see the letters; facing the cam plate. If that's not right should I remove these and buy some new ones to install the right way?

Iman,
I don't believe it makes a difference which way they go in.
They are not directional.
But for future reference...
If you look at the bearings, you'll see one edge, of one side of the outer race is more rounded than the other.
This rounded edge is to guide the bearing into the hole, making the installation easier.
I don't recall which side the letters are on (the flat side, or the rounded side).

I think most recommend instaling them with the letters to the outside.
I actually think that mine is one in and the other is out. Not going to pull them out just because of that.

'Officially,' letters facing cam plate. But if they're in 'backwards' and the needles still roll effortlessly, you are fine.

As it happens, you did yours the way they recommend.
