2009 Electra Glide Standard starter locked up the other night and could not get it to start. Pulled the derby cover and discovered the starter top tooth was on the flywheel top tooth and it could not start at all it just made a thug when I pushed the start button. Tried to jump start it and that didn't work either just thug sound from the starter. I removed the starter and the teeth on the starter looked ok and the flywheel teeth looked ok. I put it back together and it fired right up. I contribute this to the starter mount bolts had worked loose. I recommend adding some lock tight to the threads and torque the bolts to 25ft*lbs. It sure was frustrating but now it is all good.
