Default 2012 Dyna WG upgrade time

Picked up a 2012 dyna wide glide back in march and am looking to do some upgrade. So far I have the v&h big radius, kuryakyn mach 2 ac, and powervision. Everything else is stock on the 103 engine. I typically ride in town and when I do make 30-40 mile runs I tend to stay in the idle to 3000 rpms range. For the most part, I stay in the 2000-3000 rpms range. At this point I dont care about doing head work or hopping up the compression, nor am I looking to create a race bike. Fwiw my bike has a ACR.

I have been thinking about going with the s&s 583 cam and the quick install pushrods. Anybody out there running the same cam on a 103 dyna, and how do you like it?

Look at the Crane 300-2,Redshift 525,no need to go to such a hi lift cam. If you ever have to go into the inner primary, change out to a 31 tooth pulley,or better yet a 30 if your willing to go for the extra cash. Lower gearing really makes the Dyna a lot more fun to ride.enjoy!

2000-3000 is nothing... I would pick a cam that's going to work way down low like that... Like the Andrews 48...even the Harley 255s...hot cams are not going to be real hot if u don't Rev past 3000rpms

That Andrews 48 is a very good suggestion.
HUGE gain in that 103".

you may not realize, but your going to want something that makes power over 3K,the 48 is about the best choice and it makes power to 4500

The Andrews 48 is what I had originally intended but after reading several posts about it being more for 88 and 96 engines I started looking elsewhere. Dont get me wrong as I get tempted from time to time and ramp it up to 3500-3800 rpms, however with the 6 speed anything over 3000 rpm and I'm already haulin *** way over the speed limit...im not much for paying fines..

Anyway, thanks for the replies. Time to start putting $$ back and getting ready for my fall project.

The 96 and 103 are the same moter the only difference is piston size... The 103 piston is bigger by about the thickness of 2 quarters... The difference is so small u could not even tell unless u had a 96 piston to compare... The andrews 48 would work great in the 103
