If the housing is replaceable and not part of the case itself, best choice replace it

If not..
That is repairable but costly especially labor.

One thing to try first,

File and hand face the gasket surface.
May work may not but worth a try

What year sportster ?
I know nothing but would this work??
If you want to remain a stockish look, Would it be possible to talk to a machinist or even an old school plumber.
Have them create threads in that area and make a pipe like threaded insert ring that could also be bonded in addition to the threading.
Then use one of those oil cooler adapter things between that and the oil filter.
The oil cooler adapter would never require removal and since the filter would sit/thread on the adapter there would be little worry of leakage or loosening of repaired area plus you could add a small oil cooler.
Alternatively would be the already mentioned oil filter relocation.

How did that happen?
It looks like cheap pot metal to me.

If you can find someone with mad cast aluminum welding skills you may be able to fill that in or reattach the piece.

Unhappy

Unless you plan on doing 10 minute max rides only the odds of any repair holding are slim to none. I'm really sorry but you are going to have to bite the bullet on this one and replace the case. Good Luck.
