Default Twin Cam Engine

What is the difference between the TC88 and TC96 engine cases (Ex: bore, bearings, ect)?

no difference in bore,99-02 used timkens,03-up used roller bearings on both sides.99-06 use smaller inner cam bearings,spring mounted tensioners & outer bearings in the cam plate,07 up used larger inner cam bearings with no outer bearings in the cam plate and hyd. tensioners(inner bearings should be replaced with full complement Torrington inner bearings on ALL TC motors)

Everything above and the stroke is longer on the 96.

Basically, the only modification needed for transforming a TC96 flywheel assembly in to a set of TC88 (2005 FXD/I) engine cases, would be changing the bearing set-up?

no,the sprocket shaft is different for the later compensator.if you use S&S 4.375" F/W`s for your year,it can be done.
