2015 HDF Euro Meet&Greet (4th edition) July 24/25/26...
2014 riding season is coming to an end so time to start thinking about next year's riding season.
Let me hear your ideas where and when to meet for the 2014 HDForums.com M&G in 2015...
Some options:
French Alps/Vosgues
Austrian Alps
German Alps/Schwarzwald/Sauerland/Eifel
Swiss Alps
Italian Alps
Like previous editions, the scope of this M&G is:
1. to meet HDF members who we know from the forum in person,
2. discuss our mutual interests,
3. make a bike tour of ~ 300km in a scenic and preferably mountainous area,
4. have a BBQ and drink a few beers after the ride and
5. ride home after breakfast next (Sunday) morning.

Ride out 2015
Hi guys,
Great to see that Rene is already working on our next meet
Looking back at this years meet, the environment of Bavaria was awesome, great roads, fantastic scenery and of course the German hospitality and their good food.
What I didn't like was the crowded roads on our Saturday tour through Austria. Just to many bikes, bicycles and cars. Now of course it was a classic tour with super weather on a weekend
Now this is not to blame on anyone, it is a fact when travelling these roads under those circumstances. For next years planning something to consider.
Having said that, looking at the videoclip Fred posted wanted me to go back and do it all over again at once :-)
For 2015 my preference:
1. Schwarzwald in combination with Vosgues
2. Austrian Alps
3. Harz (New Option)
What ever it will be I am looking forward to meeting you all again and let's ride.....

Really ? I thought it was a rather quiet trip, and zipping around the traffic was
easy enough, but then again I ride in Italy.
I wouldn't be a big supporter of the Italian Alps, the roads aren't in great shape,
and car drivers in Italy are really something else.
Which is too bad, considering the house we have now could easily sleep 8, with a pool, hot tub, and big assed BBQ.
A day ride around Lago Maggiore would be nice, I can throw in a twist around
Lago d'Orta, and a run up a hill or two for fun.
But it is pretty far south for the Dutch boys.
Rene, you can count on me to book at the last minute, show up late,
and drink too much.
Looking forward to next year !

Hi All,
I agree with Bjorn´s proposals, Black Forest and Vosgues are infront of our door and would invite for a stop at our home. But we can´t sleep 8 though.
Black Forest is also full on weekends and even some of the best roads are closed for bikers on weekends, just because of too many bikes and too many kills.
I have not been to Harz yet, but heard of very nice places and scenery.
Although not in the luxury of being retired I would suggest to spend a day more and extend to Friday for the fun trip.
Looking forward for the gathering.
Regards
Hans

I think I've found some nice locations in the Schwarzwald:
Gasthof Hotel Krone in Stühlingen
Schwarzwaldgasthof Ochsen in Klosterreichenbach
Landgasthof Schützen in Klosterreichenbach 2014-12-27 update: no vacancy!

Hans, the Dutch crew + Petro coming from the North could ride to Karlsruhe on Thursday and plan the RON in that area. Meet you and Isabella on Friday morning and continue further South towards Stühlingen.
