98 Road King Brakeline Fitment?
I am in the process of restoring a 98 RK. I know it has Heritage bars installed and my question concerns the front brakelines. Will stock 98 brakelines work, or do I need Heritage lines? As I recall, I purchased a set of braided RK lines and installed them on an Ultra some years ago and they were just a tad long....so maybe stock RK lines will work?
I am not going back with stainless bradied lines as I want the bike original, so I want to go back with the stock lines.
I can tell the lines on there now have been "shaped" a bit to fit. Any help would be appreciated.

No problems on a '96.
However, I replaced the originals with some new 'takeoff' item or a late model I picked up cheaply that had a much longer top length, and it was no problem either. Just looped it round a bit inside of the nacelle.
The crimped junction pieces original rubber lines have a tendency to rot underneath the shrinkwrap, so are you going with NOS lines? Mine were 100% rust, just crumbled away to nothing. You'll find loads of guy swopping out basically unused OEM black lines from the latest bikes.
What's your plan ... are you doing a stock restoration?

Well....I had considered going back with the stock rubber lines, but I may very well go back stainless braided. I remember how much of an improvement in front braking the braided lines afford. These lines I have on now have rusted at the banjo connectons and they need to be replaced anyway. This particular year (98) MOCO was on the DOT 5 fluid kick and you can't even find that stuff in most Harley shops, let alone a parts house. I have always retrofitted with DOT 4 when I had bikes specifying 5. I'll do that this time as well, since I am installing new lines.
Thanks for the replies and information folks.
