hyrdrolocked motor from fuel leaking from carb?

Yeah, carb float valve needs to be replaced, plus inspect the petcock. If you didn't damage anything with it hydrolocked, you should be OK after an oil change.
And FYI: BE VERY CAREFUL with gasoline spilling out. I ran a burn unit for a month. Do I need to give you details? A few years before I was at the burn unit, a friend of mine died there. He had drained gas out of his bike (a shovelhead) and then put a battery charger on it. Took him a week or so to die.

Remember there is about a quart or so that remains in the motor when you change the oil.
Glad you got her running again.
