My FXRT has a wet sumping problem. Have replaced the check valve ball and spring, no difference. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

 

Could be that it won't stop until the seat for the ball gets some attention.

 

I changed the check ball and spring, tapped the seat using the old ball, and it did not seem to help much. I have noticed that some oil brands seem to seep into the sump more than others. Using Lucas oil treatment has dramatically reduced the problem for me.

 

How much oil is in the system??
Remember to Not add oil till after you run it awhile....
Is it an S$S pump??

 

let it run for 10 minutes or so and purge all out above the valve. it should stop after a cup or two. check level after its done and ride it more to keep from happening.

 

Some S&S pumps from awhile back sump terribly...I have one...
