Every aftermarket cam is an upgrade from stock.......EV27 is the most popular choice.

I have an EV1 in mine, and it was a great upgrade from the stock one.

The EV23 is basically a Pre '91 cam...I like them. The EV 27 works good for light bikes.
I dislike them on Baggers. There is better out there for heavy bikes than the 27

I've got 27's in both my e-glides. They work well for me.

When I went from stock to the 27 in my '95 Heritage I was very surprised at the results and extremely happy with the outcome.

thought you were given that cam? You should similarly pass it on by "gifting" it to someone else (as was done to you) JMHO
