Default Front end tube length?

Hey, Gotta 98 FatBoy stock suspension. I'm lookin to make my front end a little taller. I do believe the fork dia. is 41 mm but i'm not sure and Any one know the stock length. I would like to go 2" over and if anyone has done this how did affect the handling cause I must say it currently handles very well. Thanx all.

your forks are considered stock length FLST 16 inch front wheel

FXST - has forks 2 inches longer than the FLST // and the FXST has a 21 inch front wheel

FLST - ALSO has Cow bells < fork covers and when you add 2 inches to the forks you will need 2 inch over cow bells and 2 inch piece of PVC for each side to make up the difference so the bikes ride stayes the same and lifts it up 2 inches -

Default Both 41 mm

Are they both a 41mm dia. and is it a direct swap out. Not too concerned about the fatboy look, would like a lighter front end though. What are their actual lengths?

41 MM is the number 1949 to around 2006 or so Big TWIN

any of the 90s fork tubes are the same i dont keep that info in my head about how long are they as its not - fxst is 2 up from an flst that is what you asked

turn it into a FXST with a 21 wheel is lighter to turn / or put a jap front fork if you want light

just buy +2 tubes witch would be 24.875 stock flstf is 22.875

the fxst only has 24.25 so its only going up 1.375 it will be a little short if your wanting 2 full inches

I'm sure you wouldn't be interested but I have a narrow glide set up on my 98 FXDL. and I would like the fat boy set up. I don't think you're looking to go narrow glide though. If you are PM me.

Default Thanx D

Thats what I was looking for. I'm not sure to exact length yet. where i work there are several machine shops and I'm gonna see if one of the guys can make me a couple different length spacers and mock up the front end before I actually buy the length tubes that would be the most comfortable and best handling...

And KP nothing is out of question here. Do you know if the rake is the same? Also I see that you live in Massachusetts. not to far maybe it's possible. let me do a little research. Are they Chrome or aluminum? I would need chrome. I'll get back to you

I believe the rake is 32 on the 98 FXDL however I also believe that there is rake in the trees vs the other fxd models without rake. They are aluminum as are the trees. They would need to be powdered or refinished or polished really good.

what you can do is just slide them down 2 inches as a mock up

all harley tubes are steel of one type or another

Or just use a pair of 2" fork slugs?

Usual caveats apply but with good quality you should be fine.
