getting complicated .
Dont reroute anything , just remove what you have done and return everything to the way it was.
Now... if you want true oil readings from a gauge you found , my advise is to ensure the gauge is a quality unit that reads to approx. 100 psi.
Tee off from the oil sending switch outlet hole.
Bleed if you wish and be sure to use correct procedures for sealing and vibration consirns.

Sorry 800 screws , missed the part about you misrouting the oil lines after the rebuild.
Johnjzjz clued me in.
Hope all is well after you get the oil lines rerouted correctly.
Note to self ... wake the **** up !
Note to 800 screws ... label everything and take pics. if possible to prevent nasties.
