I had a similar leak on my 99 fatboy. After it was in the shop twice and thanks to Dan's advise, the shop replaced the seals AGAIN and it's dry as a bone.. (fingers crossed) They believe it was a defective main shaft seal. I'm not sure what the quad seal behind it actually seals, but it was replaced also.

Looking forward to seeing pics (from another 99 owner)

It seals the space where the pulley spacer seats against the inner race of the big ball bearing.

If this seal is bad, you will probably see oil leaking on the inside of the pulley spacer.

Forget chrome...

Chrome don`t get ya home.

What you really need for Christmas is a genuine Handy Table Lift.

chrome wont get you home ????????

in certain circumstances it can and will get you Bl@#n

Are you referring to (inner) being the transmission side of the pulley? On mine, that was always dry...

I'll pick up the bike tomorrow and try to cleanup all the oil so I can find the source. We have a good mechanic here, but Im pretty good around engines and may try this myself. Plus I'm wanting to put install a chrome inner primary, so this is the time. Of course I will use a manual, but this forum usually is a great source.

What octan octane gas do Evos require?

I never put over 89 octane in mine. It is only around 8.5:1 compression stock. I'm looking forward to pics. When mine was leaking there it was just the inner primary gasket.

Your book will tell you to run regular but I have always gotten best results with premium.
