Ditto, though my engine is a touch higher compression than stock. ...

Actually it is because the motor had a tendency to diesel when I ran regular.
I will neither confirm nor deny hot rodding my bike!!!

I run premium in mine, but I have been known to run a tank of 87 occasionally. Running stock compression so it doesn't matter too much for me.

If the bike was dropped by the previous owner it may have a warped inner or outer primary cover. Mine leaks a drop (literally) after running all day. Fairly normal. Manuals are out there. I found (and needed a cleaner one) on Amazon for $50 bucks.

Well here it is. I road her home 30 miles and in 35 degree weather and loved every minute of it.

I got a good deal on it, but I can see the previous owners kind of abused her a little. Still, I have a good starting place.

First off are the Vance and Hines Short Shots, THEY ARE WAY TOO LOUD! Last owner said the previous owner before him lost the baffles. He didn't mind, but I do. I did some research and found I can get the baffles and some quiet baffle add-ons for around $170 total, give or take. I'm wondering if they will still be quiet enough or should I trade them for the original stock pipes. I like their looks, but I need to get the sound reasonable. Shesh.

Another thing, the last owner added braided cables and chrome extended front lowers. First things first, the braided cables are scratching the paint and chrome, how can I protect the bike from the cables?

Thanks all, coming from the twincam touring world, I have lots of questions, lots. But I love this Evo.
