I'm sure you'll be fine. I was just a kid and it wasn't bad if I rode the same bike for a while. Unfortunately, when he first picked up the Hodaka line the old man had me try to run a Hodaka Super Rat in the 100cc class and then jump on a Yamaha MX 125 in the 125cc class immediately thereafter. It wasn't pretty. Thankfully, this experiment only lasted for a short while.
The Triumphs were always a problem for me as I rarely got to ride (steal) them. By the time the old man figured out that I was willing to take more *** beatings than he was willing to give and just let me ride the damned things, the levers changed sides and he got out of the business not long after.
Good times. Mostly.

It would give me nightmares. Not that it's a bad setup, but because of my early riding years. Back in the day, as they say, my dad was a Yamaha/Triumph/Hodaka dealer. Yamahas were 1 down, 4 up. Hodakas were 1 up, 4 down. Triumphs were 1 down, 3 up with the shifter on the right side. I blew up a lot of stuff and my feet are still kinda retarded because of it.

Back in the day, when I was really young and the Flintstones were still new, I owned several bikes and between them had all the four combinations of gear-shift. I did one day make a point of riding out on all four of them, just to tempt fate. I'm pleased to report that I survived.......

Yeah. It's nice to have my feet finally sitting in a neutral position. No more sore, tired legs on 2-300+ mile rides.

I didn't make a habit of it! Until you chaps introduced legislation and took the fun out of riding, many of the brands had different ways of doing things, like Indian using a lefthand throttle. They don't make 'em like they used to......
