Default Console indicator lights

1998 Road King FLH style dash , How do you change the bulbs , i took it off and flipped it over , stared at it and put it back on . It looks like a molded strip , how do you get at the bulbs ?????

The bulbs are similar to Christmas lights. They plug in to a socket. Remove the socket from the panel and replace the bulb. I don't think you need to completely remove the panel, just enough to get to the bulbs. Make sure to cover the tank with a towel to prevent any scratching!


Common bulb from you local auto parts store. Don't forget to use some dielectric grease!

The bulb doesn't come out the bottom, they come out the top, leave the dash in place.. Pry off the cover for the lights and the bulbs sit in a rubber housing under it... Using tweezers remove and replace the bad bulb(s).. That's the way my 99 FXSTC was and I think your FL will be the same...

Thanks , it took a bit to get the little rubber sockets out the first time but got er done , replaced the bulb and cleaned up under there
