I picked the heads up for cheap on ebay. Thought I would put them to work, if it doesn't workout I can put the old ones back in, but it ran so well that I really want to make it work. I called Bob Wood and he said shave .100" of the valve guides and put a .040"gasket in along with a pressure release valve and new springs. This sounds allot like D_gyver's advice so thanks for that. I'm giving it a go. As far as pinging, no. I set the squish up nice and thin ( .028" -.030") to combat any pinging. Read this on nrhsperformance.com. Good read, check it out. Thanks for all of your help, I owe you a beer!

Check for pulled studs, common reason for blown head gaskets.

Now that you're on the right track I really want to see this work. Sounds like a beast of bike.
