Anyone have any experience or contacts to buy salvage bikes? I want to buy a few and part them out to fund the stuff I otherwise won't be able to do to mine. Craigslist seems to be a waste of time. Anyone have Copart access?

If you search Minneapolis Craigslist for harley salvage you'll get several hits from an outfit in Madison Minnesota. Their prices seem kind of high but they have inventory.

 

Word of advice if looking on MPLS craigslist. there is also a guy from a town near Mankato mn that advertises repairable bikes on craigslist. I made a deal to buy one from him (1997 electra). Spoke on phone with him several times about damage and title status, he assured me it was a clean Illinois title. Drove 3 hours. met the guy, bike had a ton more damage then he told me and stamped right on top of title was "salvage". needless to say he would not budge on price, wasn't very cooperative and wasted 7 hours of my day.

 

I'm going to look into grabbing a junk Fatboy. I want to take the front end then part out the rest. Then maybe a softail for a set of laced wheels

 

Found this one interesting, has a torque arm, might have some engine work. Not sure when the bids start.
