I've just finished "encapsulating" one here about two weeks ago. I can't say that I have given it a full and complete heat-test until I go thru the summer here in the 90's, but so-far-so-good and I don't expect any problems. EVERY one of these I have looked at or removed from a bike that had serious mileage on it has had some degree of a runny-nose. The sticky crap runs out, follows the wires down into the sleeve and is practically impossible to completely remove. This epoxy fix may be the soultion. They must have searched long and hard for a potting matertial that would easily make a complete mess and then be impossible to clean-up.
