Default Changed to 3.37 Gearing

My 93 Heritage Classic had the 61 tooth rear belt pulley for a 2.94?? overall ratio. This ratio really lays the motor down for highway riding. I used all Harley parts so it wasnt cheap but now the bike is much better overall feel and has the 3.37 ratio with a 70 tooth rear pulley. I had my indy do the job with around 5 hours of labor total and $650 in parts. Its was well worth the change out. Its a little more rpm on the highway but I always felt these Evo's liked the 3.37 gearing.

Seriously he charged you 5 hours labour? I can do a rear front and belt change for 5 hours.

It's an awesome ratio. And when you build your motor you'll really feel the difference in acceleration..

the book only calls for 2.5 for a belt change the rear pulley wouldn't ad more tan 15 minutes to that. and a belt pulley and the primary gasket and seal kit plus a qt of oil at the harley stealership thats around 455.00 plus 2.75 hours labor = 688.75
i could be wrong but i think they saw you coming..

This is why we have forums. To protect those that don't know better. Sort of like measure once, cut twice.....lol....Don't be afraid to ask. There really isn't any one here that will rob you....
