Need a crimping tool
#11
Yes, I know the difference in wire gauges. The wings on the pins are a bit longer on the 14ga pins than the 18. That's why I asked about not crimping as deep with the crimping tool in the 18ga slot. Guess I'm not being very clear on what I'm asking??? I'm using aftermarket connectors I got at NAPA. They are automotive type.

I have used a small paperclip that I folded that worked pretty well but there is no way I can get a small screwdriver into the connector.

I'm talking precision screwdriver - shaft like a finishing nail. Anyway best of luck. I have to put on cheater glasses to see the little pin, but once I know what side (usually the opposite of the roll crimp) push the terminal in - push the clip in - pull the terminal out of the connector. A little easier with the tool but not $30+ dollars easier. I only bought one because I got a good deal and do a bike or two a year.

I used this one from amazon. Had a few connections wiring a tach and rewiring the crank position sensor pins. Worked good for my needs using OEM Deutch connectors.
