Heres wiring diagram for aftermarket radio install for 1993 and older evo baggers

Default Heres wiring diagram for aftermarket radio install for 1993 and older evo baggers

I put an aftermarket radio in my 89 electra and with just using the axxess metra adapter and this diagram got volume and tuner on bars communicating. No pink wire splice needed

This diagram didnt come with the metra kit

Just in case anyone is interested

Ebay, the radio u go with needs to have the steering wheel control on the back (swc) snd youll be good to go

Thanks! The stereo is a little pricey for me, but it's nice to know I can replace my stock radio, if I ever get the urge.

Did you used the 99-9600 bracket? do you have any pics of the wiring and install?

Welcome to the forum from the people's republic of Massachusetts!
I would almost guarantee he used the 99-9600. I did on mine and it went on ever so smoothly. Many people have an irrational fear of wiring, I did and once I saw the rat's nest that the p.o. hacked up I knew I had to dig in. It actually became a little satisfying doing a nice job and getting things working correctly.

This is some sweet stuff. I was wondering if there is any hope for my '90 EG.

But the real question is if the juice is worth the squeeze. Do those tiny speakers actually do enough to make this worthwhile at highway speeds.

Meant to add that first radio upgrade should be the speakers. Remember to check the ohm ratings.
