Hello everybody
I first got into the HD world in the early 90's. That was on the eve of the "craze" when you could get a new evo bike without a 9 month wait.
Still got an old evo (a 1995 Electraglide Classic with 75K miles on the clock)
The old bike is a member of the family and holds a lot of memories of rides with buddies that have since gone on to meet their maker. It is not leaving my shop as long as I live. Got it rigged up without a tour pak, kinda like a road king with a fairing (guess I had a Road Glide for years and didnt know it)
Just finished a rework that included replacing the swingarm (it had a crack) and rebuilding forks and cv carb. She runs really well and is really like a favorite pair of shoes.
I plan to be looking at this section frequently, as the dealers are not all that supportive of evo bikes these days. I have had to mostly depend on aftermarket vendors such as JP , Kirk and CVP for parts. None of the old guys that worked at the dealer when I got the old bike are still there.. old and retired.
I also have a 14 Dyna Low Rider. Very different from Evo... hope it lasts as long.
