Default 91 ultra rebuild. No spark.

Still not up & running. Problem is....no spark/s at plugs.
Ultima Single Fire Ignition. Red & Green lights go on.
When auto electrician tested the Coil the readings were much lower than Manual states.
In HD Factory manual it says that you can test the Coil by "bridging" ALL 3
terminals (together) with a screwdriver. Auto electrician isnt happy to do this
without confirmation.
Would love to be up & running soon therefore any help/info much appreciated.
Enjoy your summer riding. Bungo

I've read numerous times that the Ultima coil that comes with the module is only good for a paper weight.

What kind of coil are you using?
Have you checked the white wire for 12v?

Not sure of kind/make of coil but feel sure it is an original item.
It is a Single fire with 3 terminals. I will ask auto electrician about 12v at white wire although I am almost certain that he has checked voltage there.
He is very methodical. I have ordered a new Coil now and hopefully that might be the answer. At this stage I think that a new coil makes sense bearing in mind "low" readings of the existing coil. The Ultra was running ok before stripdown.

What kind/make of coil did you order?
If it were me I would go back to a dual fire coil.

Why? Bungo has already made the decision to go single fire.

How do you know?
He said he has a single fire coil and that he ordered a new coil (type make unknown) and it was my recommendation that he go to dual fire (you can always return stuff you order if you choose to).

There is no advantage to single over dual fire and with dual fire you have diagnostic options that you don't with single fire.
