I like the straight pipe look but the performance ain't worth a damn.

And you're right they are kinda noisy without baffels.

Continuing to dig into the rat's nest that is the inner fairing. Got the radio out.

Found this thing zip tied to the right fork. I'm curious what it is. If that's factory, it's a pretty hack install. I'm guessing it's a turn signal module.

There is also this thing on the left side of the frame that has a far more factory looking install job.

What is that?

At least it looks like the one on my bike.

The zip tied thingy is indeed the turn signal module.

Wow, indeed.

The missing component to up-ing the old Evos to 2015 spec ... 7" retractable screen. Now I can watch movies when I go out riding! (insert some shocked smilie here).

Do you have to take your gloves off to swipe it? How does it cope with the rain?

Yup, a few folks sell mats to fit or retro-fit to any seat? They make them in carbon fibre etc. I wonder if Corbin would do a special for you if you supplied one?

I don't swipe, I use the factory handlebar controls. You can put the DVD to work while riding but that is too chancey for me.I guess I get distracted easily. I put a switch in the dash and it grounds the parking brake cable of the radio to dupe it since the fltr came without Park. Ha!
This model will look and work better with a batwing.
It was a little iffy in the rain, truth be told.

I use my phone mounted on the bars for navigation, and my Fulmer gloves are capacitive capable on the LEFT index finger. Works great.

Thanks for all the ideas/feedback everyone. Much appreciation.

I find myself at something of a fork in the road. (Heh.)

The ride on my FXR is absolutely sublime after I switched out the suspension to Progressives (front and back). I'm thinking of doing the same on the EG.

But I'm getting cold feet about pulling out the air stuff on the forks.

Anyone want to talk me into/out of this???

I'm not a huge fan of the Harley front suspension, 'Anti-Dive' set up. It worked fine on my 1993 when it was new. Then a couple years later, it began losing air. The engineering concept is great: Increase front suspension pressure when the front brake is applied. Worked great, when it was new. Now, I bottom the forks out just going over the small curb getting into my driveway, unless I keep the reservoir filled. My entire front suspension is almost toast. The rear is getting there too.

If I was so inclined, and had money to burn, there would be a new suspension (and new swing arm bushings) on my ride. Seems like grbrown put a good system in his 1990 FLHS. I would attempt to mimic what he did.

Actually, if I had money to burn, I'd be on a new Rushmore....
