Had a bike that each time I rode it I would smell gas when stopped and also on my pants.Never a drip..Turned out to be tank rusted and gas seeping out a tiny pinhole at such a slow rate it evaporated as it came out.Drained tank and was able to push a probe right through tank.I found a new tank.I hope this is not your problem,but I always seem to have oddball (A$$hole) problems no one else has...

 

That was my guess also..... Have had to taper a match-stick before, put
some mothers wheel polish on it and spin it with my fingers to remove the
corrosion from the float jet. Also inspect the rubber on the needle valve
under a big magnifying glass.

 

Gas tank is about 4 yrs ago due rust by the seams.I could not get out the petcock. My guess is I will take off the air cleaner and check around the carb. I should see gas seepage right? And the bike runs good starts up and no hesitation at all.

 

Check if there's any rotten vent lines #25, and if the vent/vacuum cap is working, and that the cap is sealing to the tank #13
