Too bad Johnztz is not in this thread, he'd know fair price.

You could contact Hillside Cycle, username hillsidecyclecom on this forum. I've been very impressed with their tech knowledge and support given on this forum. They are not so far from you.

Also a possibility... right up the road from you on rt 12 is street stuff motor cycle shop/Triumph dealer. Their Harley tech owns a shovel for his daily rider and you could bring head right in and show him and get price..
Only complaint I have with them is they are busy and very slow on return of their work.
Just a thought...

Yeah, that sounds high to me also. Call up the nearest dealer and ask them who they send out their machine shop work to.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Frankenbikes! If you plan on working on it yourself it won't take you too long to figure out what all you've got. Get a manual. I always used both the Clymers and the Harley Service manual for the '77 I had for 35 years. I liked both for different reasons.

The shop I use charges $200 for a set of heads, plus any parts needed, so $250, while higher, doesn't sound outrageous.

From the OP's original post " exhaust flange has 3 bolts and the heads says jegs racing," ... I wonder if this could affect the price of the repair.

I think that was for the one head repair, don't think he was gonna mess with the other.
