Good to know.
I'll try calling Tuesday and see if they are.

They posted that all of their employees survived but they had to swim out.

I can honestly say I have never swam out of a bar or restaurant.

I don't know why they would have waited until the water was 4' deep before deciding to leave.

I once was at a police station and the water was rising from flood waters. When it reached the electrical outlets, my legs started tickling. It took me a little while to figure out why my legs felt funny. I looked at the wall and saw smoke and sparks, at which point I started yelling to get the hell out of there.

Having been in a flood, I can see how this could happen. The water starts to come up at a steady rate, then something downstream happens. A culvert gets blocked, or debris collects under a bridge, and bingo...... 4 more feet of water, or 6 or 12. Happens real fast sometimes. I'm looking forward to going even more now to spend some money there and hear the stories. We should make it a point to tip well. They've had some unscheduled time off.

Unless something bad happens at my doctor appointment on Thursday, my plan is to leave Cajun Cycles in Scott Louisiana at 0600 on Saturday May 14.

It's about a 5 hour ride from there if anybody wants to join me.

Which route your taking Prot?

I'm 1.5 hrs east of you, but I think We'll pull out about 0300 to allow for some breakfast time.

I haven't decided on a route.

Cajun Cycles is right on I-10 and is only fifteen minutes from my house.

When you decide on a route, put it out, not telling what might fall in along the way.

Looks like your fastest route (and easiest) is go west to Beaumont and then turn north on 287 and take that into Palistine.

4:30 according to Google maps.
