Can't say they were the sole cause of this but may have contributed to the failure.

My swingarm is inverted and has been for over 50K miles with no issues. Some guys lose their minds over this but it works for me.

Lowering blocks on the older bikes almost always= broken swingarm. Shorter shocks or inverting the swingarm is a better answer. Lowering the bike will always sacrifice some amount of the ride.

Well it looks like I blew $50, damn. I definitely do not want a broken swing arm

Question of 1.5" drop is going to be really close to hitting bolt inserts in the fender or the fender itself, can take out a tire on one bump. The drop blocks have been around awhile but don't know anyone that has them.

Some swing arms have survived the block systems some haven't, Evo swing arms have cracked even with no mods being done. The White Bike has 1" shorter shocks with heavy springs and sacrifice some ride quality but still like the stability over the oem slush shock ride but stiff.
Harley's have short shock travel to start with and need to stiffen up the spring rate to keep from bottoming out with lowered shocks, I know where to set the shocks riding solo and have to spin up the spring rate to kill when riding 2 up loaded even with saying this the bike has bottomed out and not friendly.
Love the 1" lowered look but each passing year the stiffer ride starts annoying me more, the only way out of not raising rear back up for ride quality is a set of custom Ohlins that still has the longer shock travel with a shorter shock. Bottom line is the lowered look has sacrifice with either changing geometry with blocks, loosing travel/ride quality with lowered shocks or lightening the wallet with custom shocks. What price do you pay for cool?
