Default Front fork mock up question

Swapping out the narrow glide on my 85 Low Rider to a 41mm wide glide front end and lowering it. Planning on running touring (Road King) length tubes

Do I need the fork damper tubes to mock up my front fork height?

Are the fork damper tubes in a 39mm fork the same as in a 41mm fork?

What year are you specifying and why? The 39 mm was used in Dyna's and the 41 in Softails. For my year 98 they are different. This link will help you to figure it out... Most likely not though...

Correction:35mm forks stock on my Low Rider.

Planning on running 08 or newer lower legs with Brembo dual discs. I ended up finding some take off internals from a '10 Road King with 15,00 miles on it on ebay, so I'm set. The price was right too: under 30.00. I'll only be using them for mock up, I'll go with something new for springs and such after I figure things out.

I don't get a warm feeling you are on top of this conversion! Are you aware of the type and short-comings of the top tree that comes with 41mm forks? The top of the tube isn't clamped by the forks, so the tubes are 'short' when compared with those of other smaller diameter forks. What parts for the 41mm forks do you currently have?

I have the lower legs, a set of 41mm fork tubes, triple trees, and the proper 2 bolt (4 if you want to count both sides ) hardware set for bolting the tubes to the upper tree (included with the fork tube internals mentioned above), and the stops that go at the bottom of the sliders.

Am I forgetting something?
